a few "lucky" shadowboxes...

hi everyone!  i can't believe it's been so long since my last entry!  matthew has been keeping us so busy this summer with tee ball, a fun reading class and daily swimming lessons...in addition to a few other activities!  luckily, my mom & dad are both willing & able to drive the 45 minutes {w/o traffic} out to our house at least 3 times a week and take matthew to many of the activities!  i don't know what we'd do without them!!!

on a scrappy note...my cousin in hawaii sent me some 4-leaf clovers {thanks, Lori!} and i was so excited to design a few "lucky" shadowboxes!   :)

 

i made this froggie one for my mom!   :)  

i love the look of buttons on the bottom of a shadowbox to accentuate dimension and just give it a fun look!   :)   speaking of buttons...i guess i've been a little button happy lately...   :)   take a looksie...

doesn't this make you happy?!!!   :)  most of these have just joined my button family this week, but i have a ton more buttons in my regular stash that need to be sorted and organized!!!   :)   just in case you're looking for a pretty sweet deal on some buttons, stop by and say hi to heidi @ pink hedgehog paper crafts!  that's where i bought these...

preschool graduation...

hi everyone!   :)   matthew completed preschool last week and i thought i'd share his graduation picture with you!   :)   needless to say, we are so proud of him!   :)   why do they have to grow up so fast?!   :)

 

here's another picture of matthew on graduation day with one of his best buddies, shane...there are actually 4 of them who are best pals and they call themselves the boys club.   :)   one day matthew came home from school and told us they wanted to start their own rock band!  lol!   :)

under the weather...

NO, under the weather doesn't even come close...matthew is about 3 days ahead of me in the illness department, and luckily, gary's not sick at all.  yesterday gary took matthew to the dr. and he has his first ear infection...in both ears.  :(   he's still routinely using his nebulizer a few times a day and on the bright side, his asthma isn't slowing him down, and he doesn't have pneumonia or strep throat.  :)  as for me...being sick makes my RSD symptoms so much worse...if that's possible...

last week, matthew was able to attend his last day of preschool...and his graduation party!   :)   here's a picture of matthew with his best friend, shane...and this is what i made for matthew to give him on the last day of school.    :)

      

thankfully, i was able to finish {before i got sick} these basketball mini-books that i was commissioned to make for a friend of mine who coaches a high school basketball team.  i like how they came out.  :)

in other news...we are still slowly getting settled into our new home, and i thought i'd share a funny picture.  i know that we are probably one of the last few families to get a front load washer & dryer...but, aren't they are the coolest thing?!   :)   LOL!!!   :)   i have no idea how the clothes get so clean when you can hardly see any water being used!  here we are watching the "show" in our laundry room.   :)   between this and the flip 'n fold, laundry is really fun!!!   :)

am i the last one to get one of these???  well, i finally jumped on and got one...

 

...and i Love it!!!  here's how i filled it up...so far.  i say that because this is the third configuration of all the ink, paint & glitter...i think i'll keep it like this for a while.   :)

the canvas above obviously isn't finished yet...it's all primed and just waiting for me to get my creative juices flowing!   :)   i'm planning to use the pink floral placemat as a mask and either maya mist or glimmer mist it.   :)  we'll see...   :)

that reminds me of my next product review!  i have received several emails asking about the difference between maya mist & glimmer mist...so i am going to show you...   :)   stay tuned...and  have a scrap happy weekend!!!   :)

Home Sweet Home layout

hi everyone!  here's a layout i made at the scrappin' table while celebrating NSD!  :)  i used La Salle Road, 58th Avenue and Prince Lane pp from the My Neighborhood collection by my little shoebox.  :)  love...LOVE...LOVE this paper!!!  :)  makes me happy!!!  :)  stop by the store when you get a chance and take a peek up close!  :)

time for a little RAK!

hi everyone!!!  as i was sitting here...  in my new scrap studio...{right now at 3:30 in the morning}...i thought of an idea!!!  :)  {btw, don't look too closely...remember, i'm still moving in and s-l-o-w-l-y setting up my new scrap space!!!}   i'll post more pics of the room in a future post...so, ANYWAY...

yosemite pics...part 2

here are a few more yosemite pics...it snowed the last day of our trip, so gary needed to put chains on our car for part of the drive home...the third picture is of my nephew, grant, dropping a big snowball on matthew.  :)  they had a lot of fun playing together!!!  :)

 

yosemite...easter egg hunting & disneyland! :)

hi everyone!  we just got back from our little family trip to yosemite!  :)  the weather was great and matthew had the best time bike riding, throwing rocks, catching bugs and on the last day...he had a blast playing in the SNOW!!!  :)  i took so many pictures that it's gonna take me a little while to go through all of them...but here are a few i thought i'd share...matthew even took the ranger oath and became a junior ranger!  :)

you can find this cool minestrone line by jillibean soup at the scrappin' table!  love the fall colors!  i used the butterfly paper {sliced leek} by cutting them out and layering them on the layout!   :)  i also used thin zucchini and the backside of cannellini beans & olive oil to complete this layout.  :)
