this PR is by request! :) i have been asked to test the new ranger inkssentials opaque white pen, so i thought i'd compare it to a few of the more popular white pens out there.
here's a picture of the pens we'll be talking about today...
the first one i tested was the galaxy marker by american crafts. it writes just like a typical crayola marker and goes on smoothly without any skipping. this makes it very easy to write with. the obvious downside is it's light milky color. if you are wanting a very opaque white ink pen, then this isn't the one you want. but i can see it has a place in your pen stash...especially if you do a lot of doodling. i think this pen is great for that because you do not need to adjust the way you draw/write to accommodate the ink flow.
the next pen i want to mention is the one i'm sure you know and love. it's the uni-ball signo white pen. this is the perfect pen to journal with...especially on dark paper. the downside is that it can take a few practice scribbles to get the ink flowing and you may get the occasional uneven ink flow every now and then. i think you'll agree that this is a must-have in your scrap stash.
next i tried the sakura souffle white pen. here is an interesting pen. like some of the others, it can take a few scribbles to get the ink to flow, but once you get it going...it's smooth sailing from there. don't let this pen fool you. the ink seems a little milky going on, but wait til you see it once it's dry! if you want a super dark, opaque white pen, then this is the one for you. the downside is that you need to kind of write slowly to get an even ink distribution. this was a little annoying to me and the finished journaling didn't even look like my handwriting because i had to write so slow. i also worried about the ink pooling up in places. all this aside, when the ink dries, you are left with pretty cool shiny raised letters that kind of resembles the look of embossing without the powder and heat tool! :)
lastly, i tested the new ranger inkssentials opaque white pen. i was so excited to get this pen after hearing so much hype surrounding it. i think it is in the same cattegory as the uni-ball pen...just not as good. i was a little disappointed because the ink never came out evenly and the whiteness of the ink is also a bit disappointing. not sure if you can tell in the pictures, but the ink does all kinds of skipping which, as you know, can be pretty frustrating. i don't wanna say this pen is doggie doo-doo {maybe i got a defective one???} but i'd seriously only buy it if all the rest were sold out. i'm just sticking with my trusty uni-ball. :)

"RAK" stands for "Randon Act of Kindness" and is basically a free giveaway! :)
the ribbon store is in the fashion district in downtown LA and it's on 8th street. i forgot the name, but let me know if you want it and i can look it up for you. :)
