how many of you enjoy scrapping with acrylic? i know that i do! but today i'm gonna introduce you to the next big thing!!! METAL!!! :) jessica guthrie of kits2remember has created what may just be the latest & greatest to hit the scrapbooking world!!! i'm sure these metal panels will most definitely follow in the footsteps of his popular relative acrylic!!! here's how it's described on their website, "K2R metal sheets currently come in seven different sizes and is sturdy, but thin enough to punch with the crop-a-dile and bind-it-all. there aren't any pre-drilled holes - allowing you to have more independent creativity, and the edges are straight and smooth without being sharp. each panel also comes corner-rounded. the metal panels are priced by individual sheet. buy a set of two for album covers or five or more for a completely metal album, with no minimum orders or quantities." i can see it now! all the metal embellishments...big pieces, little pieces, different shapes, monograms, arrows, flowers etc...oh! the possibilities!!! :) there are many different mediums that can be used on metal...stazon ink, alcohol ink, adirondack paint dabbers, glossy accents, diamond glaze etc...pretty much anything that can be utilized on a non-porus surface. at this point these panels may be sounding a bit like cousin acrylic...however, don't forget that with these metal panels you will be able to get the added enjoyment and versatility of using magnets!!! :) what an awesome invention, huh? jessica said, "it's a story of not being able to find what I personally wanted, so I had it made..." how cool is that?!!! :)
i bet by now you wanna find out for yourself, right? stop by www.kits2remember.com and order up some metal and start scrapping!!! :) but be prepared. if you work on your panels at a crop, you're gonna hear lot's of oohs & aahs around the room!!! :) such a trendsetter!!! :)
no, i didn't forget!!! who wants to win an awesome metal RAK...courtesy of generous jessica herself?!! she has donated a 12x12 metal panel along with a set of 4x4's...5 to be exact...perfect for a new & innovative mini book!!! :)

for your chance to win, just email me or better yet, leave a comment under this post and tell me the first thing you want to make with these metal panels!!! a winner will be chosen in one week {sept. 26.} and will subsequently have one week {oct. 3} to email me or an alternate winner will be chosen...good luck & scrap happy!!! :)

This is going to be the next big thing !!! My prediction, WOW !! Cool idea, just to think of the posibilities.... TFS

These panels are great! I would probably make a decorated ribbon board with the larger panel and with the smaller ones....it seems like the perfect material for a Daddy mini-book.
Thanks for the give-away and the super cool product!

How much do the panels weigh? When using magnets will it affect the opposite pages, especially when opening the album?

Hi Shari - I've been wanting to play with my alcohol inks so I think I would use the metal panels to experiment and eventually use as an album cover. Thanks!

What a fun concept!
I'm not sure how I would incorporate it, but I'm sure I would use it somewhere on my Halloween pages/books!

I love Jessica's stuff. I am a regular with acrylic and would love to try out the metal. I have made a box with the acrylic and would love to make one out of metal. Or even a fun interactive family outing sign for my kids. Thanks to you and Jessica for the opportunity.

These are so cool! I bet they are a ton of fun to play with! I'd create a calendar with a spot for a notepad/listpad on it.

My DH is a Metallica fan, and I think this would be a fabulous way to scrap a mini album about his lifelong fascination to Metal music!! (And one he would think was totally hardcore!)
