i know i'm not the first to see these clear-bits from red lead paperworks because i've received so many emails asking me to do a product review on them. this is a company started by two sisters, chris & sharon, who are best friends & share a love of mixed media art. although red lead is located in st. louis, they do offer a large online selection of charms & trinkets as well as other products that can be used for scrapbooking & altered art projects. clear-bits are acrylic shapes made in the USA.
they come in a variety of shapes & sizes...each with or without holes in them. you can stamp on them, use permanent markers, stazon ink, alcohol ink, acrylic paint...pretty much anything you can think of to embellish a non-porus surface. :) they also offer metal-bits in a variety of sizes! sooooooooo much to create with...you really need to visit their store to see all the goodies you can play with!!! :)
so, instead of waiting to make more samples, i decided to post my PR...just in time for all the christmas shopping you will be doing in the next few weeks! take a look at red lead paperworks for products & inspiration as you make those unique & special gifts for those you love. they also have different sizes of clear tags to play with! :)
here's what i did with mine! :) i made this tag by first using tim holtz alcohol inks {matthew usually does this part!} and then i stamped my images with black stazon ink...quick & easy...and soooooo cute! :)
when i emailed chris & sharon to let them know that i would be doing a PR on their clear-bits, guess what??? they sent me a RAK of clear-bits to give away to one of my lucky blog readers!!! :)
even their packaging is sooooo cute!!! and they always have some added "extras" in there...sorry it was awhile ago and this RAK has some FREE halloween embellies in it. :) also in this RAK are, of course, a variety of clear-bits!!! :) just email me, or better yet, leave a comment here under this post and tell me what you want for christmas this year!!! :) i will post the winner in a future entry next week. you can't win if you don't play!!! :) thanks, C & S!!! :)

I really just want to see my niece, sister and brother-in-law. We have not seen them in a year (they live in Hawaii). I really want to see my brother-in-law he has been home from Iraq for a few months and then in March he will be leaving for Afghanistan. So just them and I will be in on cloud 9!

Thanks for doing this RAK. For Christmas I wish someone could come in and organize all of my papercrafting stuff.

These clear-bits sound and look like they would be fun to play with. I think I could find a million ways to use them. I really would love to get (for Christmas) a bunch of different kinds of scrapbooking things (so I could find out about all the cool ones I don't know about or haven't even seen!) I only started scrapbooking around January of this year so their is lots of things for me to try and learn but I can't afford to buy them all. I would love to win these clear-bits so that I could try them. Thanks for all your ideas!

Hi Shari, Thanks for sponsoring a RAK. The clear bits would be great to experiment & create with. This year for Christmas, I would love to get a new lens for my camera. Thanks again.

I love these clear embellishments and hadn't heard of the company before, so thanks for the info! For christmas I'd really like some new albums as all the ones I have are stuffed!

Another excellent product that is probably only in the US. I would like to be included in this RAK draw so that maybe I will have a chance to get something that is only available in the US.. I love seeing the new products and hopefully I will be chosen....Thanks for offering the RAK Bless you.. Connie

I just want a good Christmas for my children. Money's tight this year, so I've prepared them for slim pickings. It might actually be good for them to only receive 2-3 gifts each, though!

I would like time to get caught up on my scrapping! There are a few new products I could use, but I know I should use it what I have first!
These are so cute. Love the tag you made.
